The MeitY Internship Guidelines aim to enrich the management and implementation of the ministry’s schemes and programs by engaging students in various capacities for a limited period. Here’s a breakdown of what aspiring interns need to know:

Duration and Extension: The minimum duration of the internship is set at two months, with the possibility of extension up to three months based on performance, ministry requirements, and the intern’s availability.

Eligibility Criteria: Indian students from recognized universities with a minimum of 60% marks in their last degree or certificate examination are eligible to apply.

Candidates with relevant exposure and higher qualifications, based on the needs of the ministry, will receive preference.

The eligible fields of study include, but are not limited to, Computer Science, Electronics & Communications, Information Technology, Law, and Finance.

Areas of Internship: MeitY offers internship opportunities in two key areas: ‘Cyber Laws’ and ‘Public Policy on Internet,’ and ‘Project Appraisal and Funding Methodologies for Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing Units vis-a-vis International Economies.’

  • Selection/scrutiny of applications: 22nd to 28th May 2024
  • Result of selected interns: 29th May 2024
  • Commencement of Internship: 3rd June 2024
  • Completion of Internship: 2nd August 2024

Stipend: MeitY offers a token stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month to interns, subject to satisfactory performance as certified by their Supervisor/Mentor.
