Program Overview
The program is open to anyone (no restrictions). IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) membership is encouraged, but not required. Teaming is encouraged, but each team must identify a single leader who can travel to the Symposium on VLSI from June 16-20, 2024, to receive the award and participate in networking events.
Applicants must submit an open-source Jupyter notebook detailing an innovative circuit design using open-source tools. The objective is to disseminate the main ideas and design choices using open-source tools and PDKs in a reproducible manner.
Emphasize reproducibility and open-source tool utilization in the documentation of this design while showcasing design choices.

Key Program Rules
Teams are encouraged to team up, but they must select a single leader who can attend the Symposium on VLSI from June 16-20, 2024, to accept the award and engage in networking events.
Submission entries must include a suitable open-source license, such as Apache 2.0.
An expert jury will evaluate submissions and select up to 10 winners.
Travel grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 will be awarded, catering to the needs of secondary, undergraduate, graduate students, and other participants.
Awardees must adhere to IEEE’s Travel and Expense Reimbursement Guidelines and attend the conference in person to be eligible for reimbursement.

Program Logistics
To participate in the program, applicants must:
Submit their notebooks via a GitHub Pull Request at the SSCS Open-Source Ecosystem Code-a-Chip GitHub portal.
Fork the source repo to their local repo and create a new directory for their project.
Add the Jupyter notebook to the designated directory and submit a pull request for evaluation.
Program Schedule
April 3, 2024: Deadline for notebook submissions via GitHub pull request
April 14, 2024: Announcement of winners.
June 16-20, 2024: Symposium on VLSI – conference attendance and award recognition.
Post-conference: Reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses upon submission of relevant receipts.
