Despite facing challenges due to US sanctions, Huawei maintained its leadership position, showcasing its resilience and commitment to innovation.

With 6,494 published Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications, Huawei stood at the forefront of global patent filings, demonstrating its dedication to protecting its inventions on a global scale.

China’s ascent as a global innovation powerhouse is further underscored by its dominance in total patent applications filed.

While China leads the pack in patent filings, other countries also showcased notable trends in innovation. India and Türkiye Lead Rapid Growth in PCT Filings Among Top 15 Countries: India Surges by 44.6%, Türkiye by 8.5% in 2023. The most prominent technology fields for PCT patent applications in 2023 included computer technology, telecommunications, electrical machinery, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals.
